TREATY OF MUTUAL RECOGNITION BETWEEN THE VIKING EMPIRE OF STORMARK AND STRATHCLYDE

 

The High Contracting Parties:

STRATHCLYDE

VIKING EMPIRE OF STORMARK("Stormark")

 

Article 1.

 

By this Treaty,the High Contracting Parties establish among themselves diplomatic relations.

 

Article 2.

 

The High Contracting Parties shall secure to everyone within their jurisdiction the rights and freedoms defined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948 and in the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights 1950.

 

Article 3.

 

1. Strathclyde hereby recognizes Stormark as a sovereign,independent and democratic state under International Law for all intents and purposes.

 

2. Stormark hereby recognizes Strathclyde as a sovereign,independent and democratic state for all intents and purposes.

 

3. Strathclyde hereby affirms that it does not presently, and shall not at any time in future,exercise sovereignty over, or claim all or any part of, the territory of Stormark, or claim any Stormark citizen as a Strathclyde citizen; likewise, Stormark hereby affirms that it does not presently, and shall not at any time in future,exercise sovereignty over, or claim all or any part of, the territory of Strathclyde, or claim any Strathclyde citizen as a Stormark citizen.

 

4.(1) His Imperial Majesty The Sovereign Viking Emperor of Stormark ("His Imperial Majesty") shall not claim Strathclyde or any part thereof by way of his Imperial Style and Titles or otherwise, and he hereby surrenders all such claims for ever.

 

(2) His Majesty The King of Strathclyde ("His Majesty") shall not claim Stormark or any part thereof by way of his Royal Style and Titles or otherwise, and he hereby surrenders all and any such claims for ever.

 

Article 4.

 

The High Contracting Parties shall secure to their citizens free movement between their respective territories at all times.

 

Provided that nothing in this Article confers Strathclyde citizenship or the right of abode in Strathclyde upon the citizens of Stormark.

 

Provided also that nothing in this Article confers Stormark citizenship or the right of abode in Stormark upon the citizens of Strathclyde.

 

Aticle 5.

 

1. Strathclyde, being a neutral state, shall not ally itself with Stormark but shall be free to take such measures as it shall deem expedient to maintain diplomatic relations between itself and Stormark, and shall take all measures within its power to protect and defend the citizens of Stormark who shall be within Strathclyde at any time during which Stormark shall or may be engaged in war or hostilities with any other State.

 

2. Stormark shall not ally itself with Strathclyde but shall be free to take such measures as it shall deem expedient to maintain diplomatic relations between itself and Strathclyde, and shall take all measures within its power to protect and defend the citizens Strathclyde who shall be within Stormark, at any time during which Strathclyde shall or may be engaged in war or hostilities with any other State.

 

3. Strathclyde hereby affirms that it will not attack or invade Stormark, or otherwise violate the teritorial integrity or national sovereignty of the same, or harm the person or interests of any citizen of the same.

 

4. Stormark hereby affirms that it will not attack or invade Strathclyde, or otherwise violate the territorial integrity or national sovereignty of the same, or harm the perso or interests of any citizen of the same.

 

Article 6.

 

No person shall suffer death for any offence in either of the High Contracting Parties. This Article may not be deviated from.

 

Article 7.

 

There shall only be required a visa by any citizen of either of the High Contracting Parties. Nevertheless, both High Contracting Parties shall not impose obstacles in front of a visa request by a citizen of the other High Contracting Party.

 

Aticle 8.

 

Notwithstanding that citienship is not conferred under any circumstances by this Treaty, it shall be lawful for the citizens of one High Contracting Party to travel to the other High Contracting Party to work there or to reside there:

Provided always that any such period of residence or work shall amount to not more than one year at any one time.

 

Article 9.

 

2. His Imperial Majesty, the Imperial Chancellor of Stormark and the Government (or any member thereof) of Stormark shall enjoy full sovereign immunity whilst within the jurisdiction of Strathclyde.

 

2.The Ambassador of Stormark, any member of his diplomatic staff, or any other diplomat of any rank of Stormark shall enjoy full diplomatic immunity whilst within the jurisdiction of Strathclyde.

 

3. His Majesty, the Prime Minister of Strathclyde, and the Government (or any member thereof) of Strathclyde shall enjoy full sovereign immunity whilst within the jurisdiction of Stormark.

 

4. The Ambassador of Strathclyde, any member of his diplomatic staff, or any other diplomat of any rank of Strathclyde shall enjoy full diplomatic immunity whilst within the jurisdiction of Stormark.

 

5. Nothing in this Article shall apply to the commission of treason or espionage against Strathclyde or against Stormark respectively by any of the persons heretofore mentioned.

 

6. In Strathclyde, the websites or any other virtual property which shall together constitute the Embassy of Stormark shall be deemed for the purposes of this Article to be part of the territory of Stormark and as such shall be treated as being under the sole jurisdiction of Stormark; in Stormark, the websites or any other virtual property which shall together constitute the Embassy of Strathclyde shall be deemed for the purposes of this Article to be part of the territory of Strathclyde and such shall be treated as being under the sole jurisdiction of Strathclyde.

 

7. The High COntracting Parties hereby declare their assent to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations 1961, and their affirmation to abide by all and sundry the provisions of the same.

 

Article 10.

 

Upon the signing of this Treaty by His Majesty and the Prime Minister of STrathclyde, by His Imperial Majesty and the Imperial Chancellor of Stormark, there shall be---

 

2. Established in Strathclyde an Embassy of Stormark, which shall be occupied by an Ambassador appointed by His Imperial Majesty and received by His Majesty:

AMENDMENT TO THE TREATY BETWEEN STRATHCLYDE AND THE VIKING EMPIRE OF STORMARK

 

WHEREAS it has become necessesary to improve relations between Strathclyde and the Viking Empire of Stormark ("the High Contracting Parties") even further by amending the respective Treaty agreed between us ("the Principal Treaty"):

 

AND WHEREAS it is proposed that the High Contracting Parties reaffirm commitment to the Principal Treaty:

 

BE IT AGREED BY THE HIGH CONTRACTING PARTIES AS FOLLOWS:

 

Article 1.

 

For Article 9.5 of the Pricipal Treaty, there shall be substituted as follows:

 

"Nothing in this Article shall apply to the commission of treachery, of treason, or of espionage against Strathclyde or against the High Contracting Party respectively by any of the persons heretofore mentioned."

 

Amendment ratified on the Thirtieth Day of the month Bilskirnir of the Year of Our Lord the Two Thousand and Fourth and of the Second Viking Age the Third.
