Yo, listen up, Haldarsmenn!

A High Priestess wishes to convey that she has the honour and the pleasure, both as great as the mighty bosom of the Lady Unna, to present you all with the updated version of the coat of arms of the Jarldom of Haldarsvik.

The shield of the updated coat of arms aforesaid features an angel, who is dressed in white and greenish garments as well as wearing a breastplate, holding scales in zir heraldic right hand and a parchment scroll with the text of the Pact of the Heartland in zir heraldic left hand. Zie is standing on a castle of gold with a gate and windows of black, which is situated in a wavy sea.

The castle represents Hǫusshǫll, which means "skull hall", as well as the Isle of Grand Arcadia. Hǫusshǫll is situated on Grand Arcadia, which constitutes the territory the Jarldom of Haladarsvik, and is the place where the (lengthy) negotiations which ultimately led to the conclusion of the Pact of the Heartland took place. The Pact of the Heartland is the historic treaty which ended the Conquest of the Heartland as well as the Age of Darkness, created the High Realm of Stormark, and commenced the Second Viking Age. Hǫusshǫll;s black gate and windows are reflective of the gloomy mood in the Heartland after the treachery of the Bloody Parley, which occurred a couple of months before the negotiations at Hǫusshǫll commenced. The castle's colour denotes the wealth of Hǫusshǫll's owner, a chieftain called Björn Hlöðvarsson of House of Járnhnefi.

The angel, and the part of zir garments that are of the colour white, both allude to the peace that the Pact of the Heartland brought; the part of the angel's garments which are of the colour greenish epitomize the abundant sweet fruits of plenty that the Pact aforesaid has yielded over the centuries: growth, harmony, prosperity, freshness, safety and fertility. The breastplate worn by the angel symbolizes that all negotiators present at Hǫusshǫll were armoured in good faith. The angel itself is also an allusion to the High King's late Second Lady Wife Mortal, High Queen Asa the Beloved, whose non-Viking first name was Angel.

The scales in the angel's heraldic right hand epitomize Sir Raudúlfr Bloodhelm of the House of Haldarsvik, Jarl of Old Haldarsvik, the magnificent Law Lord after whom the Jarldom was named by Order of the Imperial Conference at the Vanadísarhall upon its creation in the year 1516 two years after Sir Raudúlfr's untimely demise in the year 1514. Prior to Sir Raudúlfr's death the Isle of Grand Arcadia was a Special Leasehold of his corporation, Universal Arbitrations, Inc., under the Storish Land Lease & Agreement between the High Realm of Stormark and Universal Arbitrations to allow the corporation aforesaid the necessary autonomy and neutrality to conduct its international arbitration business. The parchment scroll in the angel's heraldic right hand naturally denotes the Pact of the Heartland, of which the negotiations were led by Sir Raudúlfr and Eyði Gíslason. Sir Raudúlfr also was High Queen Asa the Beloved's first husband and a good friend of Björn Hlöðvarsson of House of Járnhnefi, the host of the parties negotiating at Hǫusshǫll.

The shield is topped with an Imperial Crown appertaining to a Storjarl of Stormark. The crown aforesaid has its origins in the Valtian Free State. In the Days of Valtia this crown was associated with the Heads of the Great Thirteen, also known as the Great Thirteen of Valtia. Among the Falconlord Houses, the various noble Houses which ruled Valtia during the First Viking Age, the Great Thirteen were by a country mile the most powerful of the aforesaid company of chieftains. Around the globe the Great Thirteen were regarded as being of Imperial status. The Heads of the Great Thirteen all bore the Imperial Title of Storjarl, hence why this crown is also known as the Crown of the Great Thirteen.

Two blue dragons serve as shield supporters. They have been inspired by the coat of arms of the House of Haldersvik-Bloodhelm, which since Time Immemorial features a blue dragon. Its origins and meaning, however, have been lost in the mists of times ancient beyond the memory of woman. The personal coat of the late High Queen Asa the Beloved, in Her Viking Majesty's, capacity of High Queen Consort, also had two dragons of blue as shield supporters. As a nod to the Storjarja Chloe of Haldarsvik - who is Sir Raudúlfr's daughter, the High King's stepdaughter, and the Imperial Chieftainess of Haldarsvik -  have some parts of the dragons' bodies been coloured in pink, which is the Lady Chloe's favourite colour.

The coat of arms of the Jarldom of Haldarsvik also features the collar of the Grand and Glorious Imperial Order of the Two Silver Longships. The Imperial Order aforesaid is, together with the Most Beloved and Most Blessed Imperial Order of the Fulltrui, the Supreme Order of Chivalry of the Twenty-Six Jarldoms.

The compartment is a meadow strewn with white roses, and also contains the motto scroll. The colour of the meadow symbolizes fertility and the many white roses denote the peace that sprang forth from the Pact of the Heartland. In addition they also allude to the womanly name of Rose, which was the non-Viking middle name of the late High Queen Asa the Beloved. The motto "Með lögum skal land byggja" means "By law shall the land be built up".

Ah, Lord Haldarsvik! One of the greatest individuals ever to grace Reikistjarna with his presence. All of me solely has good memories of all of him! What a man! :loveit:

All of of us have also had the pleasure to have his wife, High Queen Asa the Beloved, and his daughter, the Storjarla Chloe of Haldarsvik, here in the Lands of the Longships Throne. Their contributions to our country were so fine that a Storish territory was named after each of them, to wit: the Jarldom of Haldarsvik, the Duchy of Port Chloe and the Providence Plantations, and the Viceroyalty of High Queen Asa Land.
