Port Chloe and the Providence Plantations, also known as the Adorable Jarldom, is located on the central-west coast of the continent of Tapfer. We are known for our fertile lands, rich fishing grounds, sprawling vinyards, and beautiful landscape. Our home truly is one of the most picturesque and photogenic places in existence. Here you may witness some of the world's most spectacular landscapes - from vast plains and prairies to sweeping coastlines and rolling hills. The Adorable Jarldom is a natural playground for adventurers and those who simply want to visit for the culture and landscapes.
The coast and inland are swathed with picturesque medieval towns and villages, locally known as bastides, which are nested among green rolling hills, bottom-land forests full of freely roaming wild boars and roe deer, and countless fields and pastures.
The general climate is mild and temperate, but areas to the far north may experience some subtropical weather while the far south is much cooler and milder. All throughout the land, one thing remains at a near-constant: wind. While not overwhelming at all, there is almost always a consistent and noticeable wind present. The breezes are very warm and inviting, and can make for some quite excellent kite flying, para-sailing, and hang gliding!
The inhabitants of Port Chloe and the Providence Plantations, since time immemorial, have been known as Providians. We are honest, welcoming, relaxed, and friendly. While being proud Providians, we are also fiercely loyal Stormarkers.
Before Port Chloe and the Providence Plantations became a part of Stormark it was known just as the Providence Plantations. The area received the name from its Valtian colonizers. The name "Providence" referred to the providence of the gods and "Plantations" referred to an Anglo-Saxon term for a colony. Upon joining the High Realm it was given the name of Port Chloe and the Providence Plantations by High King Harald in honor of his beloved stepdaughter, Storjarla Chloe.

The Adorable Jarldom is, together with Normandie, the heart of knightly tradition in Stormark and one of those places within the borders of the High Realm where knighthood is most universally esteemed. Tournaments, which are very important social events, are held on a regular basis, and rules governing tourneys and knighthood requirements are much more stringent in Port Chloe and the Providence Plantations than anywhere else in the Lands of the Longships Throne.
