Arrivals for Wedding of Storjarla Æsileif and King Arkadius III

Recommended Posts

Lady Aoife the Celt, Krónjarla of Stormark, wearing the magnificent blue silk gold-embroided Imperial Court Dress with a golden belt adorned with precious stones, a copy of the Brísingamen (Freyja's necklace), a stunning Celtic Tiara, and the insignia of the Grand and Glorious Imperial Order of the Two Silver Longships, is standing outside at the Golden Gate of the Vanadísarhall to welcome the honoured guests who have travelled here to attend the wedding of Storjarla Æsileif and King Arkadius III of Batavia.

Krónjarla Aoife is accompanied by Storjarla Chloe, her niece, and Erik Whitecloak, Master of the Household. She is further accompanied by Valiant Vixens, Priestesses of the Temples of Motherhood, Love and Youth and several other staff from the Sovereign Household. After having been welcomed the honoured guests shall either, depending on their time of arrival, be escorted by Lords or Ladies-in-Waiting to the Godsgrove where the wedding ceremony is held or to the Feast Hall where subsequent festivities will take place.

The Lady High Justiciar arrives at the Golden Gate. She is, just like Lady dressed in the magnificent silk ceremonial dress the Daughters of Freyja, also completed with a white cloak of pure Cashmere wool.

She curtsies for Lady Aoife and Lady Chloe, and nods respectfully to Erik Whitecloak.

"Your Imperial and Royal Highnesses, Your Grace;

Thank you very much for your very regal but joyeus welcome!"

- The young Lady Chloe, wearing a soft pink dress trimmed in lace, stays close to her Aunt Aoife, holding hands and not wanting to stray too far. She begins to feel slightly overwhelmed by the crowds, and moves closer to her aunt. Sensing the discomfort, Lars, the chief of the Vanguard, makes a motion toward his Lady, with the intention of stemming people away from her. Seeing this, Chloe makes eye contact with Lars, and waves him off. He bows slightly and consents with the unspoken command, returning to his place. Chloe looks up and smiles softly at her aunt. -

He's sort of protective. He takes his job seriously. . . maybe too seriously. I don't know what to do, so I am just gonna do whatever you do, is that ok?

"You look very nice, young Lady Chloe," the High Queen comments, "Just keep your chin up and keep smiling," as she casts a smile over at the nervious young maiden.

His Imperial Majesty the Emperor of the Alexandrians arrives to the wedding with Empress Iphigenie and the Dauphin. Guests can barely overhear the conversation amongst the Carrillos, randomly hearing the following from the Emperor: "Where's the bar..."

- Chloe's face lights up as she sees the Alexandrian Emperor and his entourage. She lets go of her aunt's hand, and makes a run for the small group, followed closely by an alert Lars. She opens her arms, and lets out a little squee of joy as she comes in for a hugging tackle of amazingly adorable proportions. -

UNCLE EDDIE!!!!

- Before anyone can properly react, Chloe has forgotten all types of protocols and glomped the Emperor of the Alexandrians. -

Do you remember me??? It's been a long time, but maybe I look a bit like mommy. It's me, Chloe!! I want hugs!!

The Duke of Hallvanger, soon to be crowned as Count of Schlangen, arrives, escorted by his cousin, Ignatia, and three of her guards.

He wears the uniform of the Irish Brigade*, with the badges of the orders of Slepnier and the Two Silver Longships, while she wear robes of red and golden brown over her red-brown uniform.

To Ignatia, he whispers "Is he who I think He is? Edgar? Not seen him in donkeys!"

"Yes, I recall you were on good terms with him."

"Were?"

"There was a war. Arminy. Over land issues."

"Oh dear. I do hope he's not going to be angry at me over that..."

Lady Aoife was quite happy to see Lady Chloe be her adorable and spontaneous self. She herself turned to the Duke of Hallvanger.

"Your Grace, welcome to this wedding. May I compliment you on how great you look in your uniform. This way you most certainly will make many a maiden's heart beat faster!"

Upon hearing a loud, boisterous "Uncle Eddie!" from a child, Edgard immediately turns around. "I KNEW I RECOGNIZED THAT VOICE!" Ignoring the stiffness of protocol much to the amusement of Iphigenie and Enrique, Edgard embraced Chloe warmly as the memories of Empress Angelique flooded his eyes.

The eccentric King of Sangun, Riskai and the Idunn Isles is next to arrive, seated upon a gilt armchair borne aloft by four unreasonably-massive individuals from the Idunn Isles, two men and two women, who are dressed as wodewoses- which is to say that they are entirely naked save for strategically-placed garlands of foliage that look as though they might slip at any moment.

The King itself- for it is almost impossible to gender the bald and pallid-skinned pygmy in the chair- is largely invisible under a scarlet cappa magna with ermine hood, but appears to be wearing a black hussar's attila jacket with silver braid over a frilly black dress; the frankly bizarre ensemble is completed by a large cardinal's galero, the centre of which is encircled by a golden crown.

The diminutive monarch seems to be either unable or unwilling to walk as others do; instead, it simply indicates an object or person of interest with a baton topped by a large golden apple and then waits for its minions to bear it hence. Should they take too long to move, or should the chair tilt too much along the way, it is not averse to reprimanding the wodewose responsible with a gentle whack upon the head...

The Jarl of Frostarike arrives dressed in a modern form of the traditional suit of the Frostajarl. Holding his arm is his date the Lady Hillevi Eiriksdottir, dressed in an elegant one shoulder gown of emerald green.

Walking up to the Jarl Ragnar and his girlfriend the two pairs bow as a sign of courtesy and Prince Bjarngeir shakes the Jarl's hand.

Good to be back, and good to see an old friend still around.

Lady Aoife walks up to both Jarls of the High Realm, being quite curious about the very lovely and elegant ladies that are accompanying them.

"Your Graces, My Ladies, welcome to wedding! Could Their Graces be so kind to introduce me to their graceful and exquisite company?"

"Oh thank you, Krónjarla," replies the King, gesturing quickly for the chair to be lowered. "You look very fetching yourself...as do the other guests. I was not expecting so many elegant people; I do hope the bride does not feel upstaged. And speaking of brides...most guests seem to be arriving two-by-two, as though they were boarding an ark instead of attending a wedding. Is this a requirement? It said nothing about such things on the invitation..."

"Very pleased to meet you to, My Lady. You and Prince Bjarngeir both got an excellent taste in dates." The Krónjarla then smiled at the couple. "Might we hear the sound of wedding bells around Sverðhǫll in the near future?"

"No, Your Majesty, it is by no means a requirement to attend the wedding in pairs. However, if you prefer some company for during the wedding I would be most willing and able to make such arrangements."

Ignatia heard her name mention, and stepped forward:

"I am here Lady Aoife, I've just forgotten how to behave around diplomats rather then soldiers. This is certainly a welcome diversion!"

She thought about how it certainly was better then the last one she went too. The bridesmaids carried guns at that one...

(ooc: I did mention her! I would have posted under that sim-id too, only the account does not seem to work)
