And, believe me, with Your Talent, My Dear, everything will go waltzing right along so very smoothly . . .

My dearest Ragnhild,

The Chefs are already preparing for this feast! I must admit, the menus are making me rather hungry already!

Good Evening To You, My Dear Anne-Marie,

Oh, Please!!! . . .

I'm already hungry just thinking about all of that Glorius Food!!!! . . .

Oh, By The Way, I know what I wanted to tell You . . .

Just as a Reminder . . .

You might want to ask Everyone here, and also send out some kind of Memo about this . . .

Perhaps You might want to ask if others might have any dietary restrictions or preferences, and such . . .

You know, things like some people are vegetarians, some people cannot have salt in their diet, some people have high cholesterol, etc., etc., etc., . . .

That might be something to consider . . .

Just a suggestion . . .

I need a drink . . .

I shall repair to the Kitchen for my usual ENORMOUS CUP OF TWINING'S ENGLISH BREAKFAST TEA ( Decaf in the Evenings, please ) . . .

Have an absolutely splendiferous evening . . . forthwith . . .

My dearest Ragnhild,

Usually, for a small dinner party, one would indeed check dietary requirements. However, at such a big event, it's hard to cater to individual needs. It would complicate matters for the kitchens wink.gif

So, the way forward here is to push the thing around your plate or hide it in the napkin should you not want to eat any of it!!

Good Evening To You, Dear Anne-Marie,

I never thought of it that way . . .

True, it would complicate things in the Kitchen . . .

And Heaven Forbid that we do that!!! . . .

So, we shall push things around on the plate, I guess . . .

I have no dietary restrictions - I was just thinking of others who might have that problem . . .

But, as You suggested, the path of least resistance is to just not eat whatever the offending food might be . . .

Have an absolutely splendiferous evening . . . forthwith . . .

I have a marvellous book, "Dining with Royalty" which was published in 1928. I found it in a second hand book-shop and it details everything that goes on at a Banquet.

It says, "You should be honoured to dine in the presence of Royalty. The food served to you is immaterial" - biggrin.gif

Good Afternoon To You, My Dear Anne-Marie,

What a Wonderful Find - Your Book on Eating With Royalty!!! . . .

Oh Dear . . .

True . . . it is an honour to Dine with Royalty . . .

However, I don't know about all of that Fabulously Delicious Food being immaterial, though . . .

Have an absolutely splendiferous afternoon . . . forthwith . . .
