"And there is the King of Batavia!" shouts a radio journalist of the Batavian Broadcasting Company in his microphone, "It's the first time since the long reign of our gracious King, that he takes time for an official state visit."

"The Stormarkian people look very honoured," reacts his assistant, "There are even people who wear clothes in the national Batavian colours and wave with the Batavian flag!"

* The King looks somewhat surprised by seeing such an enthusiasm and begins to smile and wave to the people. *

* After the Batavian National Anthem has been played, Geirleifr Glúmrsson, Imperial Chamberlain to His Most Imperial and Most Royal Majesty Harald Thorstein I the Generous Giver, The Eternal Sovereign Viking Emperor and the little noble girl from the Traditional District of Eidskog, Lady Ljúfvina Geirdiarfrsdottir, walk over the long red carpet towards the Royal Batavian Airplane.

When having arrived at the Royal Batavian Airplane, Geirleifr Glúmrsson bows for the King and Queen of Batavia. Ljúfvina Geirdiarfrsdottir curtsies deeply for the Batavian Royal Couple and then graciously hands Queen Charlotte the bunch of flowers. She then, in remarkably good Dutch and with the adorable charm of a child, welcomes King Arkadius and Queen Charlotte to Stormark and wishes them a very pleasant stay in the Lands of the Longships Throne. *

* While everyone is looking to the King, Constantijn walks down from the stairs. In his role of Archbishop, he follows the King while trying to get as less possible attraction (what's pretty difficult in robes of a cleric). *

* Geirleifr Glúmrsson, Imperial Chamberlain to His Most Imperial and Most Royal Majesty Harald Thorstein I the Generous Giver, The Eternal Sovereign Viking Emperor invites the King and Queen of Batavia to to follow him to the Imperial Limousines that are waiting for them at the other end of the the long red carpet.

Graciously the King and Queen of Batavia walk, while waving to the enthousisastic crowd which has come to greet them, towards the line of waiting Imperial Limousines. Having arrived at the Imperial Limousine that has been reserved for the said Batavian Royal Couple, King Arkadius and Queen Charlotte are saluted by an Imperial Chauffeur, who is standing next to the said Limousine. The Imperial Chauffeur then opens the door of the Limousine to allow the Batavian Royal Couple to get into the said ultra-luxurious vehicle. *

* King Arkadius, Queen Charlotte and Geirleifr Glúmrsson get into the Imperial Limousine that has been reserved for the said Batavian Royal Couple and sit down on the soft luxurious leather seats. Queen Charlotte is seated next to the King Arkadius on the rear seats in the back of the Imperial Limousine; Geirleifr Glúmrsson sits on the rear facing seats in the back of the limousine opposite of the Batavian Royal Couple.

The Imperial Court Dignitaries and the other Batavian guests split over the other Imperial Limousines. Once everyone is seated the Imperial Limousines drive off and go on their way to the Imperial Hall of Haraldsborg. The Imperial Limousines are immediately joined by police patrol vehicles and motorcycles of the Imperial Constabulary.

The Imperial Motorcade, which consists of Imperial Limousines and the police patrol vehicles and motorcycles of the Imperial Constabulary, drives at very high speed away from Haraldsborg Airport through the green fields and forrests that lie between the airport and the City of Haraldsborg, into the outskirts of the said Capital of Stormark towards one of the tunnels to Hnossa Isle that have been reserved for the House of Ettlingar Freyu, the Imperial House of Stormark.

The King and Queen of Batavia enjoy the ride to Hnossa Isle very much. Their Imperial Limousine is extremely comfortable and luxurious, and has been designed in such a way that it gives its passengers a very pleasant, cosy and safe feeling. They happily and joyfully chat with Geirleifr Glúmrsson who tells them about the landscape the Imperial Motorcade is driving through and answers the questions the Batavian Royal Couple asks. *

(Real life matters, of course, always take precedence and I'm most happy to continue with the state visit.)

* As soon as Emperor Harald and Empress Sigrid, who were awaiting the arrival of the Batavian Royal Couple in the Vanadis Waiting Room near the Golden Lady Gate of the Imperial Hall of Haraldsborg, learn that the Imperial Limousines carrying His Majesty King Arkadius II of Batavia and his wife Queen Charlotte have arrived on Hnossa Isle and are approaching the said Imperial Hall of Haraldsborg, the Imperial Couple leaves the waiting room and walks towards the Golden Lady Gate.

Having arrived at the Golden Lady Gate Emperor Harald and Empress Sigrid wait behind the closed golden doors of the said Golden Lady Gate until the braying of trumpets announces the arrival of the King and Queen of Batavia at the Imperial Hall of Haraldsborg. The golden doors of the Golden Lady Gate then swing open, the All Sólareyjar Piper and Drum Band commences with playing the Imperial Anthem, and Emperor Harald and Empress Sigrid enter the square that lies before the Golden Lady Gate, which is known as the Folkvang Square, and graciously walk, arm in arm, over the red carpet towards King Arkadius and Queen Charlotte, who have just emerged from their Imperial Limousine, to greet the said Batavian Royal Couple. *

* After Emperor Harald, Empress Sigrid, King Arkadius and Queen Charlotte have finished greeting each other they move unto a raised gold-painted platform which is decorated with the flags of Stormark and Batavia as well as banners carrying the Imperial Arms of Stormark and the State Arms of Batavia. The All Sólareyjar Piper and Drum Band then plays the Batavian State Anthem, followed by Stormark's National Anthem.

During the playing of the Anthems, a 63-gun salute is fired for King Arkadius of Batavia by the Imperial Salute Guns Battery of the Imperial Guard. Most visiting heads of state only get the basic gun salute of 21 rounds of fire. Due to his family ties to the House of Ettlingar Freyu, the Imperial House of Stormark, King Arkadius gets an additional 21 rounds of fire. On top of that King Arkadius receives, due to the King of Batavia's status of Storkonung which means "Great Monarch" and which is the most prestigious category of visiting foreign rulers, another 21 rounds of fire.

When the playing of the Anthems and the cannon fire has ceased the All Sólareyjar Piper and Drum Band forms a parade and marches in front of the raised platform while playing the songs "Sigrid the Brave" and "Charlotte the Beautiful", a song praising the Queen of Batavia which was especially composed for this occasion. After the conclusion of the parade Emperor Harald and King Arkadius walk through the Golden Lady Gate to the Court Yard behind the said Golden Lady Gate where they review an Honour Guard consisting alternately of Emperor's Huskarls and exquisite young women from all parts of Stormark who are dressed in the women's Folk Costume of the Traditional District they are hailing from. Both monarchs are then joined by Empress Sigrid and Queen Charlotte and walk into the Imperial Hall of Haraldsborg to the Val-Freyja State Room.

In the Val-Freyja State Room Princess Fränzi-Ferdinanda des Vinandy is, as a very pleasant surprise for the Batavian Royal Couple, awaiting the Imperial Couple and their Royal Guests from Batavia. As soon as they enter the Val-Freyja State Room, the Princess starts reading aloud, from a scroll made of precious parchment, the Imperial Proclamation which appoints her uncle a Knight Companion of the Most Magnificent Imperial Order of the Sovereign Viking Crown and a Knight Companion of the Most Cherished Imperial Order of Saint Harald, and her aunt Queen Charlotte a Dame of the Order of St. Jeanne d'Arc. Princess Fränzi-Ferdinanda des Vinandy then presents her aunt and uncle with the Insignia of the Orders they have been appointed to. *

* Turns to King Arkadius. *

"Well, I would love to be your guide on a tour of the Imperial Hall. Because the Imperial Hall is very big and would take quite some time to tour, I would suggest to add an extra day to the state visit making it four days in stead of three.

The extra day would be used for the events, such as the carriage tour through the Old City of Haraldsborg and the visit to the Althing, that were planned between now and tonight's Banquet in the Feast Hall.

Would that be fine with you?"

"Ah, I see. Well, then we will move the events, such as the carriage tour through the Old City of Haraldsborg and the visit to the Althing, that were planned between now and tonight's Banquet in the Feast Hall to the second day of the state visit. There is enough space in the schedule of that day.

Now, we are first are going to have lunch in the Mardoll Room and then I will give you and Queen Charlotte a tour of the Imperial Hall."
