The Novgorod Room of the Imperial Hall of Haraldsborg was buzzing with excitement and activity as invited Citizens of Stormark and Imperial Courtiers gathered there awaiting the arrival of His Most Imperial and Most Royal Majesty, the Eternal Sovereign Viking Emperor and His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Edgard II of Alexandria for the signing of the Glorious Brotherhood Treaty.

* Emperor Harald arrives at the Novgorod Room of the Imperial Hall of Haraldsborg. He is dressed in a magnificent regal Viking tunic made of azure-coloured silk and linen and a cardinal red silk cloak which is fastened by a Most Blessed Imperial Order of the Sacred Lakes brooch. His outfit is completed by the Insignia of the Grand and Glorious Imperial Order of the Two Silver Longships, the Triquetra of the Most Revered Imperial Order of Odin and a copy of the Brísingamen around his upper right arm. *

An Imperial Chamberlain announces the arrival of the Emperor of Alexandria, booming over the light chit-chats of the entourages and officials of both nations who will witness the signing of the Treaty. The Emperor walks through the door, accompanied by his brother, the Dauphin.

* Emperor Harald walks to his Alexandrian Brothers, warmly embraces them, an then inquires into their well-being.

 

The Brothers are then joined by the Lady Aoife who curtsies for each of the Emperor's and lets the Dauphin elegantly kiss her hand. *

* Lady Aoife then directs the both Emperors to a precious, ancient table where the Glorious Brotherhood Treaty, written on the finest of parchments known as vellum, is awaiting their signatures. She then invites Emperor Edgard to sign. *

THE GLORIOUS BROTHERHOOD TREATY

BETWEEN

THE EMPIRE OF THE ALEXANDRIANS

AND

THE VIKING EMPIRE OF STORMARK



We, His Imperial Majesty Emperor Edgard II of Alexandria and His Most Imperial and Most Royal Majesty Harald Thorstein I the Generous Giver, The Eternal Sovereign Viking Emperor of Stormark wishing to celebrate the unique relationship between Us and Our Most Illustrious and Most Excellent Nations have most cordially and most graciously agreed upon the following Articles:

Article 1: The Most Sovereign Brothers

In this Treaty "Most Sovereign Brothers" shall refer to Us, the Most Serene and Most Potent Sovereigns of the Empire of the Alexandrians and the Viking Empire of Stormark, who are known since time immemorial within the micronational world as His Imperial Majesty Emperor Edgard II of Alexandria and His Most Imperial and Most Royal Majesty Harald Thorstein I the Generous Giver, The Eternal Sovereign Viking Emperor of Stormark. The same shall be applied to Our Lawful Heirs and Successors.

Article 2: Confirmation of Certain Treaties

We, the Most Sovereign Brothers, do hereby wholeheartedly and most cordially confirm the long-standing Treaties in force between Our Most Illustrious and Most Excellent Nations which are known as the Fleur-de-Lis - Longships Treaty and the Treaty of the Isles.

Article 3: Exchange of Finest Soldiers

We, the Most Sovereign Brothers, shall provide each other with a body of the finest soldiers from Our Most Illustrious and Most Excellent Nations who shall serve as bodyguards, ceremonial guards, and palace guards at each other's Imperial Courts provided that nothing in this Article shall prevent bodies consisting of natives from carrying the self-same duties. The body of the finest soldiers from the Empire of the Alexandrians which shall serve at the Imperial Court of Stormark shall be known as the Alexandrian Guard. The body of the finest soldiers from the Viking Empire of Stormark shall serve at the Imperial Court of Alexandria shall be known as the Stormarkian Guard.

Article 4: Order of the Mysterious Isles

We, the Most Sovereign Brothers, shall have at Our joint disposal an Order of Chivalry to be known as the Order of the Mysterious Isles. We shall jointly be the Grand Masters of the said Order of Chivalry. The Order of the Mysterious Isles may be awarded jointly as well as individually by Us provided always that the said Order of Chivalry shall only be awarded to those that are eligible for the highest Orders of Chivalry of Our Most Illustrious and Most Excellent Nations. We shall decide amongst Ourselves upon the by-laws of and any and all other matters concerning the Order of the Mysterious Isles.

Article 5: Membership in Imperial Houses

We, the Most Sovereign Brothers, shall be Members of each other's Imperial House provided that none of Us shall have a right of succession to the other's Throne(s) unless the Head of an Imperial House in question decides otherwise. We shall also add to Our Titularies the Titles that We shall be entitled to by virtue of Membership of each other's Imperial House as well as the other Titles granted by Our Most Illustrious and Most Excellent Nations.

Article 6: Recognition of Titles and Honours

We, the Most Sovereign Brothers, do hereby most cordially and most graciously declare that We shall recognize the Titles of Nobility, Imperial Titles, Royal Titles and other Honours awarded by each other's Most Illustrious and Most Excellent Nations, if lawfully conferred by the rightful authorities, and shall assign the holders of such Titles and Honours an appropriate place in Our Orders of Precedence.

Article 7: Right of Audience for Certain Nobles

We, the Most Sovereign Brothers, do hereby most cordially and most graciously declare that each and any Noble of Our Most Illustrious and Most Excellent Nations of Ducal Rank or above shall have the right to request and to be granted an audience with any of Us, and to lay before Us, with decency and respect, such matters as (s)he shall judge of importance to the public weal of any or both of Our Most Illustrious and Most Excellent Nations provided always that such right may be restricted in case of frivolous exercise of the said right.

Article 8: Imperial Lodging

We, the Most Sovereign Brothers, do hereby most cordially and most graciously declare that the Palace of Geranon in the City of Geneva shall be reserved for lodging Members of the House of Ettlingar Freyu during their stays in the Empire of the Alexandrians. We do hereby also declare that the Hall of Sunna in the City of Haraldsborg shall be reserved for lodging Members of the House of Carrillo during their stays in the Viking Empire of Stormark.

Article 9: Amendments to Treaty

We, the Most Sovereign Brothers, do hereby most cordially and most graciously declare that this Treaty can only be amended by Our mutual consent.

Article 10: Commencement of Treaty

We, the Most Sovereign Brothers, do hereby most cordially and most graciously declare that this Treaty shall come into force upon ratification by duly authorised government officials from Our Most Illustrious and Most Excellent Nations.
