New Law of Ettlingar Freyu

Since the Emperor has expressed the idea to make the Law of a High Law I thought it might the right time to revamp it so I started to work on a draft. You may find it in the post below.

Article I.

 

This Law of Ettlingar Freyu shall be a High Law of this Most Sovereign and Noble Viking Empire as well as the highest Dynastic Law of the House of Ettlingar Freyu.

 

Article II.

 

The House of Ettlingar Freyu shall continue to be the Imperial House of this Most Sovereign and Noble Empire; its Membership shall be composed of:

 

(a) The Emperor who shall continue to be the Chief, Head and Patriarch of the whole of the House of Ettlingar Freyu; and

 

(B) Any person who was a Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu immediately before the coming into operation of this Dynastic Law; and

 

(c ) Any person who has been admitted to the Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu in accordance with the provisions of this Dynastic Law; and

 

(d) Any person who has held the Longships Throne.

 

Article III.

 

(a) Membership of the House of Ettlingar Freyu shall always be based on free will provided always that in the event that Membership is acquired by a minor, free will is presumed unless and until Membership is renounced after attainment of full age by an Instrument of Renunciation notified to the Emperor.

 

(B) Renunciation of Membership of the House of Ettlingar Freyu shall be irrevocable and shall be valid only for the person making the renunciation.

 

Article IV.

 

The Emperor shall have, subject to the provisions of this Dynastic Law, the sole and exclusive Power to admit persons to the Membership of the House of Ettnlingar Freyu provided always that no person shall be admitted unless (s)he is:

 

(a) The spouse or a child of a Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu; or

 

(B) An extremely outstanding longstanding Citizen of this Most Sovereign and Noble Viking Empire; or

 

(c ) A person selected by the Emperor to be His Companion; or

 

(d) A Royal with close (family) ties to the House of Ettlingar Freyu.

 

Article V.

 

No person shall be admitted to the House of Ettlingar Freyu whose admission to the House of Ettlingar Freyu would be detrimental to the reputation, esteem or welfare of the House of Ettlingar Freyu or of this Most Sovereign and Noble Viking Empire.

 

Article VI.

 

The Emperor may, for reasons which to him seem sufficient, by an Instrument of Membership Termination under His Hand and the Great Seal of His Most Sovereign and Noble Viking Empire, terminate any person's Membership in the House of Ettlingar Freyu.

You should also include provisions concerning foreign branches, acquisition of Citizenship and Titles.

All Members of the House of Ettlingar Freyu shall be, in accordance with the Udal Law of this Most Sovereign and Noble Viking Empire, Citizens of Stormark.

 

All Members of the House of Ettlingar Freyu, except for the Emperor and the Empress, shall bear the Imperial Title of Viking Prince of Stormark and shall be entitled to use the style of His Most Imperial Highness.

 

A former Emperor shall be entitled to bear the Imperial Title of Emeritus Emperor and may also use the style of His Most Imperial Highness.

 

The Emperor may create the Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu who is first in the Order of Succession to the Longships Throne Crown Prince of this Most Sovereign and Noble Viking Empire.

 

The Emperor may provide that when a Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu ceases to be Crown Prince of this Most Sovereign and Noble Viking Empire he may bear the the Imperial Title of Emeritus Crown Prince and may also use the style of His Most Imperial Highness.

 

The Emperor may grant any other Title He pleases upon any Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu He pleases.

 

The Emperor shall confer an Imperial Principality upon any Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu, except for those Members of the House of Ettlingar Freyu who are Heads of State of an Autonomous Country of this Most Sovereign and Noble Viking Empire.

 

The Emperor shall always hold the Imperial Principalities of Thule and Inis Fer Falga.

 

Members of the House of Ettlingar Freyu may be granted annuities by Statute. Such annuities shall not be enjoyed outside this Most Sovereign and Noble Viking Empire  except with the consent of the Althing.

The Emperor shall continue to be the Chairman of the Imperial Foundations and the usufructuary of the assets of the House of Ettlingar Freyu.

 

The Imperial Foundations shall enjoy the same Sovereign Immunity as this Most Sovereign and Noble Viking Empire.

 

The Emperor shall safeguard the reputation, esteem and welfare of the House in accordance with the rights and duties laid down in this Dynastic Law and the Laws of the House of Ettlingar Freyu. To this end, he shall have the assistance of the Family Council and of all other Members of the House of Ettlingar Freyu.

 

The Emperor shall choose from among the Members of the House of Ettlingar Freyu entitled to claim a seat in the Althing the Family Council which shall assist and advise Him with conducting the affairs of the House of Ettlingar Freyu. The Emperor shall preside over the Family Council.

 

Subject to the limitations laid down in this Dynastic Law the Emperor shall have Supreme Authority in all the affairs of the House of Ettlingar Freyu.

 

In the event that a Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu wishes to bring a lawsuit against a person the Emperor shall appoint independent tribunal to judge the said lawsuit.

 

No Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu may be subject to any interrogation, investigation or inquiry or give evidence in any  Law Court or tribunal lawfully exercising judicial functions without the consent of the Emperor.

 

No Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu may be arrested without the authorization of the Emperor, except in the case of flagrante delicto, prosecution authorized by the Emperor, or final sentence.

 

The Emperor may, at any time, order the release of a detained Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu.

The Power to enact Laws for the House of Ettlingar Freyu shall, upon the coming into operation of this Dynastic Law, be vested in the Althing.

 

The Althing shall exercise the Power to enact Laws for the House of Ettlingar Freyu by Statute.

 

Bills containing a proposal or proposals to create or amend a Law of the House of Ettlingar Freyu may only be submitted to the Althing by a Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu.

 

Bills containing a proposal or proposals to amend this Dynastic Law may only be submitted to the Althing by a Member of the House of Ettlingar Freyu.

 

The House of Ettlingar Freyu may establish branches outside the Borders of this Most Sovereign and Noble Viking Empire provide always that Members of such branches of the House of Ettlingar Freyu shall not entitled to succession to the Longships Throne.

 

A person may belong to multiple branches of the House of Ettlingar Freyu.
