Sigrdrífa the Priestess

Flag of the Jarldom of Frostarike and the Lake District

Flag Frostarike.png

Yo, listen up, Frostamenn!

A High Priestess wishes to convey that she has the honour and the pleasure, both as great as the mighty bosom of the Lady Unna, to present you all with the Flag of the Jarldom of Frostarike (and the Lake District).

The flag is the ancient banner of the Frostathing, the legislature of the Jarldom of Frostarike, with the shield of the Royal City of Thorfinnsborg added to it. The blue beams and squares symbolize Frostarike's innumerable rivers and lakes while the colour white is an allusion to the purity of living by the Sverðlǫg, Frostarike's warrior code of honour.

My Lady Regent,

A High Priestess wishes to convey that the skull with crossbones are an allusion to the practice of the Jarls of Drakkar Bay,  the petty kings who ruled Thorfinnsborg from the Vikin Period until the latter days of the Old Tale, to execute captives by flinging them off the lighthouse-fortress which since times ancient beyond the memory of woman is known as Thorfinn's Tower. The crown royal symbolizes the death of Arngeirr the Arrogant, the royal chieftain who ruled Thorfinnsborg before he was killed during the Days of the Old Tale by the Lady Ljótunna Lýðbjörndóttir who pushed him off Thorfinn's Tower. It is regarded as quite the irony that Arngeirr, an individual who always prided himself on his high birth and station, came to an end on the blood and shit-stained rocks beneath Thorfinn's Tower like many a Thorfinnsborgian an common criminal.

My Lady Regent,

The seven golden escallops in reverse symbolizes the extinction of the House of Gullskel, which became extinct upon the death of Arngeirr the Arrogant.

My Lady Regent,

That was indeed supercalifragilisticexpialidociously the case! From Thorfinn Skullsplitter through Ingibiorg the Fair and Thorfinn the Mighty to Arngeirr the Arrogant. :yesyes:
